Dan Delaney

Administrative Assistant

Responsibilities

My role at the Simms/Mann-UCLA Center for Integrative Oncology is to help carry out the mission of the Center in whatever way I am able. My highest priority is to assist those who visit the Center in finding what they need, whether that is information, reassurance or referrals to the right person. In addition, I help coordinate services provided by Dr. Hardy and am often the first contact in making appointments with her.  I am responsible for maintaining the Center’s database and computer network, keeping the patient library and supplies of informational materials up to date, coordinating the monthly "Insights Into Cancer" lecture series and assuring that the day-to-day operations of the Center run smoothly. I also assist with grant proposals, processing and tracking of financial expenditures and editing of the Center’s publications. My voice is often the one you will hear if you call the Center's main phone line.

Education, Experience and Personal Perspective

My background is rather varied: I graduated from SDSU with a Degree in Drama. After graduating from SDSU, I became involved in the commercial and television industry. I also worked for many years in the music publishing business. I like to participate in a wide variety of activities, among them biking, running, and camping. I decided to join the Simms/Mann-UCLA Center for Integrative Oncology because I have developed an interest in the Health Sciences and, quite simply, it is a great place to work, with genuinely caring and compassionate people.
