Nutrition for Cancer Patients

About the Lecture
Good nutrition is essential for patients both during treatment and beyond. In the new era of precision medicine and its sister science of precision nutrition, the “one size fits all” type of diet recommendations ideally should be tailored for each cancer patient. In this presentation, some general concepts will be presented along with some simple tools for assisting how to identify which types of foods and dietary supplements would be most helpful for cancer patients based on current health status and family history.
About the Speaker
Carolyn Katzin, MS, CNS is an Integrative Oncology Specialist at the Simms/Mann Center where she sees patients for a highly individualized assessment of nutrition and supplements. She completed the Stanford Professional Certificate in Genetics and Genomics from Stanford University in July 2017. Carolyn earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition (with honors) at University of London’s King’s College and earned a Master of Science degree in Public Health in Nutritional Science from UCLA. She is author of several books including “Crisis Nutrition”, “The Everything Cancer Fighting Cookbook” and “The Cancer Nutrition Handbook”.
