Scheduling an Initial Appointment
If you are interested in learning more about how the Simms/Mann Center’s clinical team can be helpful to you, or someone on your UCLA medical team has recommended that you see us for individual or family support, please contact the Simms/Mann Center at (310) 794-6644.
When you call, please tell us how you were referred and provide us with your name and phone number as well as the name of your treating UCLA Oncology physician. If you are a family member, please provide your contact information, the name of the patient, and the name of their physician. One of our clinicians will then call you to arrange a time for you to come to the Simms/Mann Center for an initial Intake/consultation.
Our clinicians are psychologists, clinical oncology social workers, oncology counselors or an intern in one of these fields –individuals selected by us as part of their training in psychology or social work graduate programs who are supervised by our primary licensed clinicians.
When you come to the Simms/Mann Center, a clinician will discuss your individual needs and concerns in a private office. Through this discussion a personalized plan for the most beneficial services and care will be arranged with you. This could include information and referral to a specific group or groups, additional appointments with one of our clinicians or referral to other services, resources and programs both at the Simms/Mann Center and in the community. If the clinician and you determine that a medication evaluation from our psychiatrist is appropriate, then your clinician will help you obtain an appointment in an efficient and timely way.
Scheduling Follow-up Appointments
Once you have seen one of our clinicians, follow-up appointments can be discussed and arranged to fit your circumstances. These follow-up appointments and ongoing support can only be provided to patients or their family members, partners or significant others who are receiving care through a UCLA Oncology physician (for example, surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists).
